"Midpoint" is the fifteenth episode of Season 1, airing January 4, 2001. Celeste Monroe wins the first individual immunity challenge of the post-merge game. At Tribal Council, the Importantés alliance is broken as Jonah Prescott — its co-founder alongside Petra Vance — is voted out and sent to Extinction Island in a 5–1 decision.
Story
The title "Midpoint" carries a double meaning — Episode 15 of 22 marks the literal midpoint of the season's run, and the elimination of Jonah represents the midpoint of the merge, with six players remaining after his departure.
Heading into the episode, Colton Briggs made a calculated play: aware that he and Priya sat at the bottom of the numbers, he approached Petra Vance privately and suggested that Jonah — as the more visible and physically capable member of the Importantés — posed the bigger jury threat of the two. Colton argued that with Jonah gone, Petra could reposition herself as a free agent rather than half of a duo others would eventually break up anyway.
Petra listened. By the time the vote was cast, she had brought Audra and Kwame along — framing it as a pre-emptive strike before Jonah could consolidate power. Jonah, blindsided, had no opportunity to react. His sole vote went to Colton.
The move fractures the former Yasawa majority and leaves Petra as the episode's most dangerous player — now holding both the social capital of the Importantés legacy and a quiet working relationship with the Mamanuca pair.
